Commitment and Target

The Company recognizes that community health is not limited to medical treatment within the hospital, but also covers preventive health promotion, health risk screening from an early stage, providing knowledge to help people take better care of themselves, and supporting groups that may face limitations in accessing appropriate diagnosis or treatment.

Sikarin’s scope of community health operations therefore covers surrounding communities, workplaces, insured persons, youth, families, children with specialized health risks, and people who may face limitations in terms of time, distance, or opportunities to access healthcare services. The Company aims to design projects that are connected to the hospital’s expertise and the actual needs of target groups.

Challenges and Opportunities

Community healthcare faces multiple challenges, including disparities in access to healthcare services, varying quality of treatment across regions, and limited medical resources, especially among the elderly, low-income populations, and rural residents. However, advances in medical technology and telemedicine provide important opportunities for delivering faster and more convenient healthcare services to the public.

In addition, government policies promoting Thailand as a Medical Hub support hospitals in developing modern healthcare networks that meet international standards, helping ensure broader access to medical services for all citizens.

Management Approach and Value Creation

The Company manages community health issues by linking them to the core expertise of the hospital business, namely preventive health check-ups, disease screening, medical consultation, medical care for target groups with specific health needs, and the provision of health knowledge to the public. This approach helps ensure that the Company’s community activities are not merely general social activities, but rather the use of medical capabilities to create meaningful health outcomes for people and communities.

The Company’s community health operations focus on four key approaches, namely:

  1. Preventive health promotion and disease screening
  2. Implementation of medical care projects in collaboration with communities
  3. Health education for youth and communities
  4. Collaboration with network partners to create continuous health outcomes

Preventive Health Promotion and Disease Screening

The Company places importance on preventive health promotion and disease screening from an early stage to increase opportunities for timely care and reduce the severity of diseases that may occur in the future. This approach aims to bring healthcare services closer to target groups, particularly people in communities, personnel in workplaces, and groups that may face limitations in terms of time, distance, or convenience in travelling to the hospital.

This operation enables people to access health check-ups and medical consultation more conveniently, while supporting preventive healthcare to become part of everyday life, rather than seeking services only when severe illness occurs.

Implementation of Medical Care Projects in Collaboration with Communities

The Company places importance on applying the hospital’s medical expertise to support medical care for groups of people with health needs, particularly cases that require diagnosis, care by specialists, and collaboration with network partners, so that patients can enter the care process appropriately and in a timely manner.

This approach reflects the hospital’s role in extending care from service areas within the hospital to collaboration with communities and relevant partners, with the aim of helping reduce limitations in accessing treatment and creating health outcomes that affect the quality of life of patients and families over the long term.

Health Education for Youth and Communities

The Company places importance on promoting health knowledge alongside the provision of medical services, with the aim of enabling people and youth to understand healthcare, behaviors that affect well-being, and appropriate access to healthcare service systems.

This type of operation helps expand the role of the hospital from a medical service provider to a supporter of health knowledge for society, particularly for youth, who can apply the knowledge to better care for themselves, their families, and their communities over the long term.

Collaboration with Network Partners to Create Continuous Health Outcomes

Community health operations require collaboration from many sectors. The Company therefore places importance on working with foundations, external organizations, workplaces, communities, and relevant stakeholders so that health projects can reach target groups more precisely and with greater continuity.

Collaboration with network partners helps enhance the Company’s ability to identify important health issues, reach target groups, and support medical care or health promotion to achieve more tangible outcomes.
